Delomar, formerly of the dancehall duo RDX, says his efforts to reunite with his former colleague, ReniGAD, on stage at Strictly 2K last Saturday, was to please their fans who are deeply hurting after the group separated in 2020.

"I thought it was a perfect opportunity to be the bigger man and see if wi can fix the situation and make an effort to fix it for the fans and personally, I also didn't wanna go into 2024 with any baggage. But when I came on the stage and tell dem fi play di 'Shake Yuh Bam Bam' riddim and tell him fi sing fi him part or disrespect his fans by leaving, he walked off the stage and he knows that this is affecting both of us," Delomar told THE STAR.

But ReniGAD said that Delomar's intention "was not pure" and was an attempt to seek attention.

"This was not any gesture of peace, he just realised that he was not getting the reception he expected and decided he was gonna take the victim's way out. Him just see the glory and the fyah mi a bring and waah run on pon mi performance," ReniGAD told THE STAR.

"Mi and him was standing backstage and he did not say anything to me about coming on stage and that would've been the ideal time to [make that suggestion] and then I'd consider that a gesture of peace and as a professional, I'd do it for the fans," he said.

The Naughty Girl artistes agreed that at first, the 'feud' was a publicity stunt, however, they shared conflicting reasons for it becoming a permanent segregation.

"Him know seh is not a woman mash up RDX, that's a big lie. It's because of my personal growth in music. Initially, he [ReniGAD] was the one who write the songs and build riddims while I control the video aspects and marketing but over the years I've learned how to do everything and start contribute to the whole thing and build my Delomar brand," Delomar said. He added that ReniGAD expressed the desire to sing badman songs while he wanted to continue on the RDX legacy of creating songs for the ladies.

But ReniGAD said Delomar "decided to chicken out and do his own thing" after which things became personal.

"He went ahead and deleted, removed himself and block everybody and all association with RDX. Before he went public with our personal disagreements, there was a 10 per cent chance that things could've reconciled, even just on a professional level. But when you go further and start move it from music and start attack mi personally, a deh so the whole ball game change," ReniGAD explained. He insisted that the bond is "broken to a point where it cannot be healed".

"I will make an effort to ensure that the RDX legacy never dies but as for us performing again as a group, that will never happen," he said.

RDX was formed in 2007 and is known for several hits such as Jump, Kotch and Bend Ova.
