After dropping several hits and delivering what some consider a stellar performance, D'Angel became one of the most talked about artistes who stood out at Sting 2023.

"I'm feeling elated, it's like a world shock and everybody is just rooting for me. The welcome was resounding and I just loved the stage. I channeled into the 'War Angel' moniker and mi fans dem love it suh dem seh 'continue inna dah power deh Angel'. Suh mi power up and I'm just ready to take on the world because mi a train fi dis long time. But for Sting, it's a big stage and it's my return, so there was a lot of thought process put in motion, from my outfit by Melissa Moses, to make-up artist, Monique Irons. The street nuh stop big mi up seh a me get best outfit and best performer," an ecstatic D'Angel told THE STAR.

She was banned by Sting promoter Isaiah Laing in 2013, after she interrupted Ninja Man's set for a face-to-face lyrical war, all while not being booked for the event that year. The ban also prohibited the singer from entering the event's venues as a patron.

D'Angel told THE STAR that she just wanted to show Ninja Man that she was learning from lessons he taught her as a hardcore deejay and also to show other male artistes that a woman can take on a lyrical clash with a man and also dominate. She described her return to the Sting stage as "a breath of fresh air for my fans".

"They were all on the edge of their seats, telling me to focus and go in for the win'. So all my 'angels' and my team, we were very focused going into this after 10 years. So my focus was on what needed to be done and I go over there and did what was necessary. Ninja Man has taught me this quote years ago, 'whenever you're performing, always please the fans' and that's exactly what I did," she said.

She continued, "Everybody was bonding so great like I never left and I'm just humbled, grateful and so happy because all I wanted to do was just to perform for my fans; and to carry dancehall and reggae music to every sector of the world".

She also had no regrets of not having an all-female clash at the show's 40th edition.

"I just set the record straight and let them know that there can only be one D'Angel suh nuh badda size up; I'm in a league of my own and it shows. I dislike females that bicker against each other, it don't give yuh no belt nor character or fame fi call out another female fi get a forward," D'Angel stated.

"At the end of the day, I just want females to know they need to unite more. Males can do it on rhythms, on and off stage, but we females are too emotional so we need to break that barrier, unite and make a difference in the world," she concluded.

Her latest single, Last Laugh which speaks to "the aftermath of what transpired at Sting" was released on January 1.
