Bugle celebrates late mother in touching performance
Despite the high energy that dancehall-reggae heavyweight Bugle channelled at Sting on Boxing Day, his heart was still clenched in pain after he expressed the heartfelt moment his mom passed away .
However, the artiste was stern on using her strength to propel his energy, instead of a dampened spirit.
"I was sitting in the hospital with my mother, and mi hold her hand from it was warm until it just got cold. But moaning a fi sadness, and mi nuh sad. Mi is a hearty youth inna mi heart and mi a celebrate mi madda life," an emotional Bugle expressed as he segued into his hit single, Pearly Gates.
He further recalled the hardship he watched his mother experience, which he uses as a motivation to celebrate her.
"Mi naah moan mi madda death, mi a celebrate her life, because mi nuh sad 'bout har, mi happy fi know seh she did so much. I celebrate the goodness mi madda do pon earth, the 11 kids dem weh she have. She tell mi seh it neva easy, and she go through that 11 times. Me forward a number eight, suh imagine if mi madda did stop a seven, there wouldn't be a Bugle. Suh mi affi love mama, cherish her and celebrate her life; tun on mi lighter fi mama and celebrate har," he told THE STAR.
The Cherish Life singer also expressed gratitude towards his fans as he said they kept him invigorated.
"It's a great joy [because] one a di ting weh energise every artiste is when yuh can deh pon di stage and di people dem a sing with yuh, a respond to yuh and a show yuh love. That energise yuh and mek yuh waah do more. That acknowledgement is like an achievement because wi a forward from not having no fans to having a big fan base, so we haffi just give thanks," said Bugle.
The artiste, who just ended his Grenada tour, said that despite his travels, he is more interested in collaborating with local talent who he admires.
"Yuh see di man dem weh inspire me, like Capleton, a dem mi look forward fi work wid. Suh if me sing a song wid Capleton, Sizzla and Buju Banton, Barrington Levy and Tanya Stevens, to me dat major. Di whole a dem name deh mi call a who yuh a go hear pon mi next album," Bugle revealed.
