Dancehall icon Bounty Killer is in high spirits about his upcoming performance as one of the major headliners for the Fight The Fight concert and EP release of rising artiste Jah Lama.

The event is slated for Friday in Chapelton, Clarendon.

"Fans can expect a high-energy, electrifying performance as usual as I always try my best. It means a lot to me to perform and support up-and-coming talent like Jah Lama. It's all about empowering and mentoring. To me, showing up and sharing the stage with him for the release of his EP is like tuning into an enjoyable rhythm of support and good vibes," Bounty Killer told THE STAR.

"As veteran artistes, it is our responsibility to pass on the torch of positivity, resilience, and consciousness to the next generation. We can collectively steer the industry in a more positive and empowering direction by cultivating an environment that values authenticity, mindfulness and support," he added.

Other headliners booked for the event are reggae artistes Sizzla Kalonji and Turbulence. Jah Lama said he is honoured to have this calibre of artistes on the show as they serve as a great inspiration for his career.

"These are three of the deejays that influence me as an artiste and I look up to them. So, I am happy they will be a part of my EP launch," Jah Lama told THE STAR. He even has a collaboration on the EP with Turbulence, a song titled Burn Dem Down.

The artiste, who has also released singles such as Fighter and Progress, said the inspiration behind the title of his EP Fight The Fight (from which the concert gets its name) is a saying that has guided him through the struggles of life.

"Most of my achievements have come through hard work. It's always been a struggle. As mi madda always seh, yuh haffi fight di fight 'cause we grow rough," he said.

"This EP is about overcoming adversity and achieving goals. I am sure this theme will resonate with music lovers all over the world. I feel very proud about this project because every song on it carries a message of inspiration and hope," he added.

Jah Lama came on the music scene in 2021 with his single, Smile.
