Laden opens up about journey in Wilderness
Talented dancehall artiste Laden promises no "more mistakes" in his latest single, Wilderness, which speaks of the artiste's experience behind bars, following his release from prison earlier this year.
Laden wants his fans to know that through it all, he remained strong and confident that someday he would overcome his adversity.
"It is definitely a personal type of vibe. I've been through the worst, at the lowest point in my life, and I recovered. [So] I'm expressing myself with some deep lyrics through that song based on my experience. It's definitely a solid song that others can relate to and shows that Laden is back and solid again," the Time To Shine deejay told THE STAR.
The official music video for Wilderness was released on Friday on Laden's YouTube channel.
Despite reliving the painful memories in composing his lyrics, the artiste managed to convey a positive message of strength and steadfastness while simultaneously, offering his fans a melodious flow of crafty lyrics with a "nice vibe" throughout the song.
"This track will definitely reach out to people nationwide, it's very catchy, lyrical and soulful. All you need to do is just press play on it and trust me, you will get positive results from it," he said.
The gifted singjay spent four years behind bars after being convicted of illegal possession of firearm, illegal possession of ammunition. He was released from prison on April 21.
The entertainer said his unfortunate situation with the authority is a minor setback but he has hit the ground running, as he is currently working on a few collaborations with dancehall artistes Chronic Law and a promising hit collaboration with Popcaan, titled Unbroken. He also shared that another one of his singles, Greatness, is doing "very well" on all music platforms.
Laden is slated to perform on a host of shows this Christmas season, such as Unruly Fest, Frinally, Ghetto Splash and Eastern Extravaganza.
Laden catapulted his way into the spotlight after participating in the Digicel Rising Star competition in 2006. He has produced hit singles such as I'm Sorry, Don't You Like It, and Gal Coward.
As the talented singer looks to rebuild his brand and regain the love of the masses, Laden urges everyone to stay on the right path and avoid breaking the law.
"Obey the laws of the land and once you do that you won't be in any trouble with the law. You just do what is right, obey the traffic signs, obey people personal space. You don't have to react to every negative energy, just learn to forgive," he said.
