Fully Bad ready to clash Demarco at Sting - Laing open to ‘clean’ showdown
Dancehall artiste Fully Bad is calling out Demarco to settle their lyrical feud on the 'battlefield' at the upcoming Sting stage show.
Both artistes have been trading barbs for the past two weeks, which has sent the Internet into a frenzy. Fully Bad explained that he made a post on Instagram stating that 90 per cent of dancehall artistes fear him and the other 10 are his friends.
"So as mi made that post, he [Demarco] made a post right after and did the same thing that I did, throwing shades at me like he's looking for a rival. So everybody started tagging me under his post and because I was heated at the moment, mi seh mi go fix him like how him want war," said Fully Bad.
A subsequent post on Demarco's Instagram page read:
"Mi wah clash a big artist[e], who wah clash? Time fi exercise mi lyrical skills," the post read. Fully Bad said he has received additional encouragement from his online supporters to "start the war" despite Demarco's reluctance.
"Suh mi just put up a freestyle and mi see it go viral and him reply fass! Suh mi seh dis is it! From there on the war start and dancehall glad fi dah kinda vibe yah because this is dancehall culture and the fans dem love the little entertainment. So let's take it to Sting; I'm ready;" Fully Bad said. Fully Bad's freestyle, Dogg Food, talks about Demarco's weight and the type of songs he's known to create; while demoting his abilities to exercise his lyrical prowess in 'war songs'.
Demarco later posted on Instagram, "Mi change mi mind, tell dem send mi the same riddim...Mi a guh give dah youth yah a career!! Mi a start from ground up!!" He then released the track titled Fully Pad, a counteraction to the freestyle.
The lyrical fire has not abated, which caught the attention of Sting promoter, Isaiah Laing, who said that he is open and ready for a clean and violence-free clash.
"Fully Bad is already booked, the people dem directed Demarco to Sting and I spoke to him and he agreed, but I am yet to finalise with him. Demarco, the young king Fully Bad, is ready and waiting on you because you on the Internet a talk up a bag a lyrics and everybody is expecting it to end up at Sting. The last time a clash gwaan at Sting was in 2014 with Demarco and Masicka and now dem call him and him a run. Suh we calling out Demarco because Fully Bad seh him ready," Laing told THE STAR with a laugh.
He said clashes are always fun, and once it is clean, he doesn't mind it.
"We just want a peaceful, nice clash like back in the days. It hurt when you lose but sometimes if you give a good account of yourself, you don't have to worry about losing because everybody still walks away a winner. Over the years, every artiste that loses clash, get big contracts abroad with great labels," Laing shared.
Efforts to reach Demarco for a comment proved futile.
